Consistent Price Systems and Face - Lifting Pricing under Transaction Costs

چکیده
In markets with transaction costs, consistent price systems play the same role as martingale measures in frictionless markets. We prove that if a continuous price process has conditional full support, then it admits consistent price systems for arbitrarily small transaction costs. This result applies to a large class of Markovian and non-Markovian models, including geometric fractional Brownian motion. Using the constructed price systems, we show, under very general assumptions, the following “face-lifting” result: the asymptotic superreplication price of a European contingent claim g(ST ) equals ĝ(S0), where ĝ is the concave envelope of g and St is the price of the asset at time t. This theorem generalizes similar results obtained for diffusion processes to processes with conditional full support.

Consistent price systems under model uncertainty
We develop a version of the fundamental theorem of asset pricing for discrete-time markets with proportional transaction costs and model uncertainty. A robust notion of no-arbitrage of the second kind is defined and shown to be equivalent to the existence of a collection of strictly consistent price systems.
متن کاملThe Fundamental Theorem of Asset Pricing for Continuous Processes under Small Transaction Costs
A version of the fundamental theorem of asset pricing is proved for continuous asset prices with small proportional transaction costs. Equivalence is established between: (a) the absence of arbitrage with general strategies for arbitrarily small transaction costs ε > 0, (b) the absence of free lunches with bounded risk for arbitrarily small transaction costs ε > 0, and (c) the existence of ε-co...
متن کاملSticky Continuous Processes have Consistent Price Systems
Under proportional transaction costs, a price process is said to have a consistent price system, if there is a semimartingale with an equivalent martingale measure that evolves within the bid-ask spread. We show that a continuous, multi-asset price process has a consistent price system, under arbitrarily small proportional transaction costs, if it satisfies a natural multi-dimensional generaliz...
متن کاملThe Fundamental Theorem of Asset Pricing under Proportional Transaction Costs in Finite Discrete Time
We prove a version of the Fundamental Theorem of Asset Pricing, which applies to Kabanov’s approach to foreign exchange markets under transaction costs. The financial market is modelled by a d × d matrix-valued stochastic process (Σt)t=0 specifying the mutual bid and ask prices between d assets. We introduce the notion of “robust no arbitrage”, which is a version of the no arbitrage concept, ro...
متن کاملThe fundamental theorem of asset pricing under transaction costs
This paper proves the Fundamental Theorem of Asset Pricing with transaction costs, when bid and ask prices follow locally bounded càdlàg (right-continuous, left-limited) processes. The Robust No Free Lunch with Vanishing Risk (RNFLVR) condition for simple strategies is equivalent to the existence of a strictly consistent price system (SCPS). This result relies on a new notion of admissibility, ...
